Optometry Services
Optometry Services at Columbia Park Medical Group provide comprehensive vision exams, contact lens services and urgent eye care.
Disease beyond the scope of optometry will be referred to our Department of Ophthalmology at our Fridley and Andover Clinics.
Vision Exams
A comprehensive vision exam includes both a refraction, to determine the glasses prescription, and an eye health evaluation. The optometrist will test for glaucoma, cataracts and other eye disorders.
Contact Lens Services
After assessing a patient's contact lens need, the optometrist will determine what type of contact lenses will satisfy vision and ocular health requirements. The newest disposable, toric and bifocal contacts are available through the optometry department. For your convenience, contact lenses can be mailed directly to you. Contact lens services are available at our Andover, Brooklyn Park and Columbia Heights locations.
Urgent Eye Care
Our optometrists also see patients with urgent eye care needs such as eye irritation, redness, soreness and removal of foreign bodies from corneas.
Scheduling an Appointment
A comprehensive eye exam
takes about an hour. To fully evaluate ocular health the pupils will be dilated. A dilation opens the pupils, makes you sensitive to light and causes blurry reading visino for up to four hours. most people are comfortable driving after dilation, certainly sunglasses are recommended. Please bring current glasses, contact lenses and any contact lens information you have available. Please call the appointment lines below for department hours and to schedule an appointment.
About Our Optometrists
Our Optometrists Kathy Mulier OD, Rene Royal OD and Sharon Wolff, ODare licensed by the State of Minnesota Board of Optometry and are certified in treatment and management of ocular disease. Optometrists are licensed to prescribe topical drugs (eyedrops) such as antibiotics, antivirals, steroids and allergy medications.
